Motivation Tip #17: The What-Went-Well Exercise
A simple two-step gratitude activity to uplift your mood
Step 1:
At the end of your day, list three positive events.
Examples:
I was busy with a work deadline. My partner did the dishes. That took the stress out of my to-do list, letting me work in peace.
Step 2:
For each positive event, answer the question βWhy did this happen?β
β Heβs kind and understands my work deadlines.
This helps us refocus and feel grateful for the good things in life that we might otherwise take for granted. Also, it is fun.
Try this every day for a week. Youβll feel happier and find yourself in a good mood more often.
